Grim Games Issue #0: The Fishmonger's Secret is a cosmic horror adventure inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft and one of my favorite video games from Red Hook Studies, Darkest Dungeon. Like the game, this adventure refers to many characters and places by their title, job, or geographical description (ex. the Mayor's Son, the Fishmonger, Seaside Town, etc.). You can always change the names easily to fit the style you want at your table!
Adventure Tease:
Seaside Town is brought to its knees as the Mayor’s Son has vanished on the night of his coming-of-age celebration! As dawn breaks, two guards and the village Fishmonger are also suspiciously missing. Inside her hut, an ominous hatch is found leading deep into the earth. The Mayor frantically enlists adventurers like you with promises of gold and glory to go forth into the unknown depths of the Shadowdark. Will you rescue the Mayor’s Son? Or will the eldritch forces below win the day?
