Welcome to Dungeons & Dragons!
Learning to play this amazing roleplaying game is simpler than it sounds—especially with a knowledgeable Barrister guiding you.
This free one-hour session will teach you the basic concepts of Dungeons & Dragons, as well as the basic rules that make up the game's core. After we play, you'll be ready to sit down at other D&D tables, or host your own!
Session Time: Every other Saturday, 1:00PM-2:00PM (Check our calendar for the next session)
Entry Cost: Free. Just show up and join in!
Materials Required: None! We'll have all the materials you need.
What is Dungeons & Dragons?
Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is a roleplaying game, where players sit down at a table to tell a collaborative story together, complete with heroes, villains, tension and climactic moments. Each player at the table takes on the role of a hero in the story, while the Dungeon Master (DM) narrates and controls the rest of the world.
Whenever you attempt a difficult task, you'll roll dice to determine the outcome, whether you're swinging an axe at a troll or convincing a palace guard to let you pass.
What to expect from your first session:
- We'll begin with a brief introduction to your character sheet and the different types of dice;
- Your Dungeon Master will introduce a scene to you, whether your story begins in a dark tavern or on the deck of a ship at sea;
- Challenges will arise and you get to choose how to approach them. There are no right or wrong choices, and every choice will add to the story;
- You'll probably find yourself in an encounter with a foe, which will need to be solved through force or through guile.
